Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born on 01st November, 1973 to father Krishna Raj Rai, the Marine Engineer and mother Vrinda Rai – the writer, in the Bunt community in Mangalore of Karnataka is the award winning and most celebrated actress in the Indian Film Industry today. Her elder brother Aditya Rai is in the Merchant Navy

Aishwarya’s mother tongue is Tulu but can thoroughly speak Hindi, English, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil languages also. Graduated from Mumbai, she won the most prestigious Miss World title in 1994.

After winning the Miss World title she started modeling for advertising and Indian fashion magazines and ultimately stepped into the film industry by making her debut through Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Iruvar’ in 1997. She had her first significant commercial success through Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ in 1999.

She has married to Abhishek Bachchan on April 20, 2007.
