The 65th birthday would rank as the Big B’s quietest yet. Junior Bachchan was shooting in Namibia for Goldie Behl’s ‘Drona’, daughter-in-law, Aishwarya, was in Boston completing up ‘Pink Panther’ and wife Jaya could hold up no celebrations coz she was down with a bout of flu. Topping the worry chart was the fact of a severely –ill hospitalized mother.

So the birthday Boy Bachchan wrapped up his shooting by evening on the eve of his birthday and headed straight for the hospital to be with his mom. Being with his mother gave him an inner strength and tranquility that only a devoted son knows about.

The down spirit of Amitabh was apparent in the fact that he politely refused to do interviews this birthday. “What’s there to say? A birthday is like any other day for me.
